The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has put up an interactive imagery viewer showing Hurricane Sandy’s damage along the New Jersey coast. NOAA acquired the images during an Oct. 31 flyover of the affected area at an altitude of 7,500 feet.
The above images show Casino Pier and Breakwater Beach in Seaside Heights, N.J., before and after being lashed by the storm.
More photos follow after the jump.

The above images seem to show a shallow washout that has carved the southern end of Long Beach Island, N.J., from the rest of the narrow barrier island.

Sandy removed a stretch of the historic Atlantic City boardwalk and deposited it in the ocean and nearby streets.
